My Perfect Man
It has always been my dream to have a man who provides for me physically, emotionally and spiritually.
To find this Man is a difficult venture, maybe impossible. So I decided to create my own inanimate man who has all these qualities.
I made ‘Som Chai’ not only as a companion, but also as a means of understanding how ‘men’ and ‘relationships’ tick.
While making my Man-doll, I wondered: Do we define ourselves through our partner? Does our partner reflect our self-worth? Is it important that our partner be pretty/handsome/rich/clever/sexy?
Also, is it possible for an inanimate doll-man to replace a flesh and blood human-man?
Does having a Man, a perfect partner in life, something we are ALL searching for, make ME happy?
