Yoko Sonya was born in Kawasaki, Japan. Graduated from Aichi Prefectual University of Art and Music, Ceramic major, Product Design course, Japan, she was a guest student at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design, Industrial Design department Glass & Plastic Master Program, Halle, Germany. Since 2004, she has been working and living in Sweden. She received a Master Degree from Art Craft department at H.D.K. Gothenburg, Sweden.
