An Allegory

Every artist yarns time and time again, to capture beauty and harmony – a task which is at time unbearably tricky. We often fall short of our artistic visions because our power comes from what is mysterious, hidden and sublime. But it is our job to make that invisible, visible. Imagined Chopin composing his fugues and rhapsody’s, which cry out with emotion, it must have felt magical.

We are inspired in order to inspire. If we act on our moments of inspiration, wecan become a part of something much bigger than ourselves. God uses us. This is that magic we knew while building snow forts and sand castles as children. Every soul has the ability to make something amazing which always themselves in its power – to truly magnify the world of inspiration and hope. However, it is this very same power that can also magnify the world of destruction and hatred. It’s a choice we all have to make every single day. Meanwhile aside from dreams and moments of eucharistured the real world isn’t set up to hold us in joy and inspiration. It can be a trap for just the opposite.

So with art, as with life, I intend to find and give inspiration. On the surface, this mural is a simple perspective study. But more importantly, I am using it as a way to play in an imagine world – just as a child would. The hall way is titled “Defies Description”, “Abundant Miracles”, “Sudden Belief” and “Life’s Wishes”in order to illustrate the vastness of the source of inspiration. As I watch sheet artists, I am impresses by the way they hold fast to their focus while the world pushes by. I wish to live close and hold fast to my inspiration as Chopin did to his music, so that I can become a part of that magical hallway of inspiration.
