{"id":4263,"date":"2016-03-27T11:01:16","date_gmt":"2016-03-27T11:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.compeung.org\/?p=4263"},"modified":"2017-10-05T09:41:04","modified_gmt":"2017-10-05T09:41:04","slug":"artist-sal-cooper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/compeung.org\/main\/artist-sal-cooper\/","title":{"rendered":"Sal Cooper"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><a href=\"http:\/\/www.salcooper.com\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4264\"><\/a><\/h1>\n<h1>Fugue for Lost Voices<\/h1>\n<blockquote><p><em>All that I\u2019ve lived I have forgotten\u2026All that I might be I don\u2019t remember<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Fernando Pesso<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This work concerns ideas of flight, escape, memory and dissociation.<\/p>\n<p>It has developed from a consideration of the Fugue as a musical form, and has led to an exploration of the condition of <em>dissociative fugue<\/em> as an expression of a <em>flight<\/em>, or escape: from reality, or from normal life, or from the constraints of identity and memory.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 283px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.salcooper.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/c438f5_236aabbe85a8312718928e3094cd0a8a.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"283\" height=\"227\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">http:\/\/www.salcooper.com\/<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sal is working to develop visual metaphors for the state of memory loss, and the idea of escape, and the shadow of disturbance that might precede it.
