With ComPeung’s new Musician in Residence and Exchange program between Thailand and Nepal, we invited Manmohan Thapaliya Sharma especially for our 1st fundraising concert at ComPeung. Manmohan will be the 1st ambassador or our program. He will be working with local musicians and collaborate with Thai and international artists in Chiang Mai.
Manmohan is classical Nepalese musician who masters beautiful Tabla and has incredible energy in his voice. His music is not considered a standard music that we familiar with, but more of a Raga, an ancient tradition to have the ability to “color the mind” and affect the emotions of the audience. He was one of the main lead singers in Jazzmandu 2017, an annual jazz festival in Kathmandu, Nepal.
